Spiegazione del video sottostante

Nel 1967, a Neil Aspinall venne fatta richiesta di girare delle scene per il progetto di un terzo film dei Fab Four. L'opera doveva diventare una sorta di mosaico filmico promozionale degli album  Rubber Soul, Revolver and Sgt Pepper. I Beatles rigettarono l'idea e accettarono invece quella di Paul (il Magical Mystery Tour).
Del progetto rifiutato, furono realizzati solo quattro piccoli film, dedicati rispettivamente a "Eleneor Rigby", "A Day In The Life",  "Within You And Without You" (andato smarrito) e "Tomorrow Never Knows".
Quest'ultimo, come si può vedere, è un insieme di clip di John (14 Hour Technicolour Dream), Paul (il suo viaggio del 1966 con Mal Evans) e George (l'arrivo in India con la dolce Pattie).

A Change Is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke

Fu "l'inventore del soul": Sam Cooke. Gli inizi di questo grande cantante e compositore furono specialmente dedicati al gospel (vedi il suo connubio con The Soul Stirrers), e quindi alla musica religiosa; poi Sam lanciò diversi "ballabili". Ad esempio "Another Saturday Night", da lui composta nel 1962 mentre espletava un tour britannico insieme a Little Richard. "Another Saturday Night" è da affiancare ad altri pezzi soul vivaci come "Good News", "Having A Party" e "Twistin' The Night Away". 

Ma Cooke ovviamente non viveva sulla luna e, dopo una serie di vicissitudini, finì per proporre una ballata politica del peso di "A Change Is Gonna Come" (ispirato dalla dylanesca "Blowin In The Wind", ma anche dalle proteste per le strade d'America)... La canzone uscì, e fece il botto, quasi esattamente un anno prima del suo assassinio: Sam Cooke morì infatti l'11 dicembre 1964, a 33 anni, ucciso da una banale tenutaria di un banale dormitorio (l'Hacienda Motel di Los Angeles), a seguito di un banale diverbio, in circostanze mai totalmente chiarite.

Nina Zilli - "Sola"

La straordinaria Nina Zilli, reale vincitrice di Sanremo 2015.

Hanno fatto vincere invece Il Volo, tre "giovani" che cantano come i nostri nonni e dunque non rappresentando affatto il nostro Paese o la cultura giovanile. Il Volo (i nuovi Tre Tenores) svendono all'estero un'Italia fatta di O' sole mio, mandolini, pizza e spaghetti. Che tristezza!

The TAMI Show (film intero)

Santa Monica, California, 1964. Il trionfo del doo-wop e del rock. Uno dei momenti del passaggio di testimone.

Signori, ecco (in ordine sparso): my hero Chuck Berry, The Supremes, The Miracles, James Brown naturally (one of the greatest ever), crazy white Beach Boys and those Brit rebel boys known as "The Rolling Stones". This movie is a masterpiece! Io pagherei il boglietto già solo per vedere il minishow dei Miracles o quello di Marvin Gaye...
A fare da cerimonieri sono "gli altri Beach Boys", ovvero Jan & Dean.

Opeth - 'Pale Communion' (album intero)

Opeth a noi di Topolàin interessa dalla metà degli Anni Duemila circa, ovvero da quando il suo fondatore, Mikael Åkerfeld, scoprì il prog e il folk rock.
Con Pale Communion (2014), la band svedese ha fatto un gran balzo in avanti, rifiutando di continuare a cavalcare le monotone praterie dell'heavy e del metal per sorvolare invece un paesaggio più vario e anche più carico dei segni di un ieri musicale (sociale, mistico addirittura...) non scevro di particelle di storicità ben riconoscibili dagli appassionati del rock in genere.

A parte "Voice of Treason" (40:03), tutte le tracce di questo album ci sono piaciute. Ecco la tracklist:

Beh, si sa: i gusti son gusti... Di certo c'è che gli echi che si sentono qui (Deep Purple, Emerson Lake & Palmer...) e che erano stati splendidamente preannunciati in Heritage (2011), fanno battere più forte i cuori di chi è cresciuto con l'art rock degli Anni Settanta.

E' morto Pino Daniele

La notizia è apparsa sul sito dell'ANSA.

Il manager di Pino Daniele, Ferdinando Salzano, ha confermato il decesso del cantautore napoletano.

Pino Daniele non aveva ancora 60 anni: li avrebbe infatti compiuti il 19 marzo. Causa della morte, avvenuta stanotte: un infarto. 

"Anche Pino ci ha lasciato. Grande amico mio ti voglio ricordare con il sorriso mentre io, scrivendo, sto piangendo. Ti vorrò sempre bene perché eri un puro ed una persona vera oltre che un grandissimo artista. Grazie per tutto quello che mi hai dato fratellone, sarai sempre accanto al mio cuore. Ciao Pinuzzo…", scrive Eros Ramazzotti sul suo profilo Instagram.

Notizia confermata anche dalla figlia. Il suo commento: "È un momento terribile". 

Pino Daniele si sarebbe sentito male nella sua casa di campagna in Toscana, secondo quanto riferisce Il Mattino. Vana la corsa in ambulanza.
Il cantante era tornato in tour a dicembre con il live 'Nero a metà': il 22 dicembre aveva suonato a Milano. L’ultimo tweet, che rilancia un post di Facebook, sul profilo ufficiale di Pino Daniele, risale a tre giorni fa. Il testo è: "Back home? In viaggio per casa", con la foto in bianco e nero della strada.
